Trump is predictably appealing to rightwing base's proven love of treason. They blame Obama for dividing country while celebrating those who tried to dismantle Union. They dismiss concerns of collusion with hostile foreign government in thwarting our democratic process as long as it appears to net immediate gains in the halls of power. They betray the nation in service of their twin gods Mammon and Malice. Undeniably -- self-evidently -- this adoration of unpunished traitors has as its bosom companion a damning disdain for our unfulfilled yet foundational belief that all men are created equal.
